WhatsApp follow-ups for real estate: templates and a cadence that converts

Team Realease · 22 September 2026 · 6 min read

Indian property buyers live on WhatsApp. They are far more likely to read a WhatsApp message than an email — and many prefer a quick message before taking a call. Used well, WhatsApp shortens the path from enquiry to site visit. Used badly, it gets your number blocked.

Here is a cadence that works, with templates you can adapt.

The ground rules

  • Get consent. Only message buyers who enquired or agreed to hear from you, and make opting out easy.
  • Use approved templates for the first message through the WhatsApp Business API.
  • Be useful, not pushy. Every message should give the buyer something: information, an invitation or an answer.
  • Log everything against the lead, so whoever picks up the conversation knows what was said.

Templates

First contact

Hi {{name}}, this is {{agent}} from {{company}}. Thanks for your enquiry about {{project}}. I’ve shared the brochure and floor plans below — when is a good time for a quick call?

Site visit invitation

Hi {{name}}, we have site visit slots this Saturday at 11 am and 4 pm for {{project}}. The sample flat is ready to view. Which one works for you?

Visit reminder

Hi {{name}}, looking forward to seeing you at {{project}} today at {{time}}. Here’s the location: {{map_link}}. {{agent}} will meet you at the sales office.

Post-visit

Thank you for visiting {{project}} today, {{name}}! As discussed, here is the cost sheet for {{unit}}. Happy to answer any questions.

Long-term nurture

Hi {{name}}, a quick update on {{project}}: {{update}}. Would you like to schedule a revisit?

Automate the repetitive parts

Writing every message by hand doesn’t scale. A CRM with WhatsApp built in can:

  • Send the first-contact template the moment a lead arrives.
  • Remind agents of every follow-up due today.
  • Send visit reminders automatically.
  • Run nurture sequences for leads that are not ready yet — and stop when they reply or book.
